A Family in the Middle East
GBPC supports a missionary family living in the Middle East, as they seek to spread the gospel of Christ, in a country where Islam is the predominant religion. This missionary family has been living in the Middle East for over a decade, which has allowed them to become an integral part of the community in which they live, to help share Christ’s love and message of salvation, to those of other faith backgrounds. GBPC receives update newsletters from this family, as they seek to share with all their ministry partners, how God is working through them to pour His spirit into the lives of the people in that community.
Katlyn McConnell, Finding Hope Honduras
GBPC supports Finding Hope in El Porvenir, Honduras through financial donations, prayer support, and by helping with various projects to help raise support and awareness for this ministry. Finding Hope was started by former GBPC youth member Katlyn McConnell, who lives full time in this community in Honduras. This ministry seeks to bring hope to the children and women of that community by helping to lift them out of poverty. The ministry helps women through a small business trade program which teaches women to make bracelets that are sold both in Honduras and in the U.S. Likewise, there is a school sponsorship program for the children to be able to attend school, as well as Sunday school programs. The ministry is in the process of constructing a Women and Children’s Center, where they intend to house all the programs of the ministry, as well as a site for refuge for battered women. Church members can help support this ministry by offering to donate items to the annual Finding Hope Garage Sale held in May each year, working at the sale, purchasing bracelets made by the woman or helping to sell the bracelets here in the states.
